Six hectares of tropical gardens, lotus ponds, and sweeping paddy fields surround Tanah Gajah, as Mount Agung — Bali's highest and holiest mountain — rises from the horizon.

This is not a resort that happens to be beautiful. It is a sacred place that has been beautiful for a very long time.

Tanah Gajah is where the retreat begins and ends. Our Opening Ceremony and first group dinner take place here on October 10th — and our Closing Session and dinner return here on October 15th.

Tanah Gajah offers daily yoga, a spa with treatments ranging from Ayurvedic massage to sound healing, and complimentary eco shuttle service to Ubud center.

For those wishing to explore further, optional cultural experiences include private access to the museum-quality art collection with an expert guide, a one-of-a-kind ballooning adventure over Ubud's rice fields, guided rice paddy tours, and painting classes with local Balinese artists.

DINING

The Tempayan — Tanah Gajah's celebrated open-air restaurant — offers panoramic views of the surrounding rice fields from every table, under soaring traditional Balinese architecture. The menu weaves authentic Balinese cuisine with Western and Asian classics, anchored always in rice from the paddies just beyond the terrace.

For morning coffee or a quiet afternoon, you can also visit the Panen Padi Lounge, host to specialty coffee and ceremonial-grade matcha artisan, Kurasu.
